1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Introduction:
On this 16th day of December 2025, as we draw closer to celebrating the incarnation of God’s goodness in Christ, we turn to David’s psalm of deliverance and testimony. Psalm 34 is an exuberant declaration of God’s faithfulness born from personal experience of rescue. From the determined commitment to praise “at all times” (verse 1) to the invitation to “taste and see that the LORD is good” (verse 8), this passage maps the journey from desperate crying to radiant testimony. In this season of anticipation, we are reminded that the God who delivered David is the same God who sent Jesus, and His goodness is ever available to those who seek Him. Let our hearts echo this psalm’s confident praise.

Prayer Points (Anchored in KJV Scripture):

  1. Prayer for a Lifestyle of Continual Praise
Heavenly Father, I echo David’s vow: “I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalm 34:1). Forgive me for praise that is conditional or seasonal. Cultivate in me a heart of gratitude that praises You in adversity and abundance, in sorrow and joy, making worship my first response, not my last resort.

  2. Prayer for God-Centered Boasting
Lord, teach my soul to rightly boast. “My soul shall make her boast in the LORD” (Psalm 34:2). Strip away all pride in my own achievements, wisdom, or strength. May my only boast be in Your character, Your salvation, and Your faithfulness, that my testimony might encourage “the humble” and bring them gladness.

  3. Prayer for Corporate Worship and Exaltation
God, I join the psalmist’s invitation: “O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together” (Psalm 34:3). Unite Your people in genuine, passionate worship. Break down barriers of isolation in my life and in Your church. Let our collective praise lift high Your name in our families, congregations, and communities.

  4. Prayer for Deliverance from Fear
Sovereign Lord, I come seeking as David did: “I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears” (Psalm 34:4). I bring my specific fears—of the future, of failure, of lack, of sickness—before You. Hear my cry and deliver me. Replace every spirit of fear with Your perfect love and peace.

  5. Prayer for Radiant Trust without Shame
Father, I choose to “look unto” You. As You promise that those who do “were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed” (Psalm 34:5), fix my gaze upon You. Illuminate my darkness with Your glory. Let my countenance reflect Your hope and favor, bearing no shame, for my trust is in You alone.

  6. Prayer for the Cry of the Poor and Troubled
Compassionate God, You are attentive to the desperate cry: “This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles” (Psalm 34:6). Hear the cries of the poor, the oppressed, the sick, and the brokenhearted today. Move me with Your compassion to be Your hands and feet, even as I trust You to save me from my own troubles.

  7. Prayer for Angelic Protection
Lord of Hosts, I stand in awe of Your promise: “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them” (Psalm 34:7). I reverence You. I ask for the encampment of Your angels around my home, my family, my journeys, and my nation. Provide supernatural protection, guidance, and deliverance in the physical and spiritual realms.

  8. Prayer to Experience God’s Goodness
Gracious God, I accept Your invitation: “O taste and see that the LORD is good” (Psalm 34:8). Let me experience the richness of Your kindness, Your provision, and Your presence in tangible ways. Deepen my personal knowledge of Your goodness, that my testimony may be, “He is good, and His mercy endures forever.”

  9. Prayer for Blessed Trust
Faithful Father, I declare the blessedness of the one “that trusteth in him” (Psalm 34:8). Anchor my soul in unwavering trust. In every uncertainty, remind me that blessedness—true happiness and favor—is found not in circumstances, but in the settled confidence that You are for me and will never forsake me.

  10. Prayer for a Testimony that Draws Others
Lord, let my life be a living Psalm 34. As You deliver me, hear me, and encamp around me, give me the words and opportunities to share what You have done. Let my experience of Your goodness become an invitation for others to seek, taste, and trust in You.

Declarations (Based on KJV Scripture):

  1. I declare that I will bless the Lord at ALL times. His praise is continually in my mouth, regardless of my circumstances (Psalm 34:1).

  2. I declare that my soul boasts only in the Lord. My testimony of His works brings gladness to the humble and points them to His greatness (Psalm 34:2).

  3. I declare that I magnify the Lord and exalt His name with His people. I am part of a worshiping community that lifts high the name of Jesus together (Psalm 34:3).

  4. I declare that when I seek the Lord, He hears me. I am delivered from ALL my fears—fear of man, fear of lack, fear of sickness, and fear of the future (Psalm 34:4).

  5. I declare that as I look to Him, I am radiant. My face is not covered with shame, for I am justified, accepted, and crowned with favor in Christ (Psalm 34:5).

  6. I declare that the Lord hears the cry of the poor and saves from all troubles. I am never too insignificant for His attention, and no trouble is beyond His salvation (Psalm 34:6).

  7. I declare that the angel of the Lord encamps around me and my household because I fear Him. We walk in divine protection and supernatural deliverance (Psalm 34:7).

  8. I declare that I have tasted and seen that the Lord is good. My personal experience confirms His kindness, and I am continually refreshed by His grace (Psalm 34:8).

  9. I declare that I am blessed because my trust is securely in Him. My happiness and well-being are rooted in His faithfulness, not in the stability of my situation (Psalm 34:8).

  10. I declare that my life is a living invitation for others to taste God’s goodness. My deliverance story is a beacon, calling the weary and fearful to find refuge in Him.

Closing Prayer:
O Lord, our Magnificent Deliverer, we thank You for the timeless testimony of Psalm 34. As we reflect on it this day, stir up a relentless praise within us. Train our mouths to bless You at all times. Deliver us from every hidden and obvious fear. Let our faces shine with the light of Your gaze upon us. May Your angels guard our ways. And most of all, may we daily taste and savor the profound goodness You have shown us ultimately in the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. May our trust in You be unshakable, and our lives an endless testimony to Your faithfulness. In the precious name of Jesus, the ultimate expression of Your goodness, we pray, Amen.

KEY TAKEAWAY: Praise is a weapon, seeking is a pathway, and tasting is an invitation. Your consistent praise shifts atmospheres, your sincere seeking guarantees a hearing, and your personal tasting of God’s goodness becomes an unassailable testimony. The God who delivered David is your deliverer today. Choose to bless Him at all times, and you will witness His deliverance from all fears.
