Basic Scripture for 4 December 2025: Prayer Points and Declarations

BASIC SCRIPTURE: 1 CHRONICLES 4:1-10 (NKJV)

1 The sons of Judah were Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal.
2 And Reaiah the son of Shobal begot Jahath, and Jahath begot Ahumai and Lahad. These were the families of the Zorathites.
3 These were the sons of the father of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazelelponi;
4 and Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer was the father of Husah. These were the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah the father of Bethlehem.
5 And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
6 Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.
7 The sons of Helah were Zereth, Zohar, and Ethnan;
8 and Koz begot Anub, Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.
9 Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.”
10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

Reflection: The Prayer That Changes Your Story

Tucked away in the middle of a long genealogy—a list of names that can seem dry and repetitive—we find a brilliant diamond of hope: the story of Jabez. His name means “he will cause pain,” a constant reminder of the difficult circumstances of his birth. He was destined for a life of sorrow, defined by a label of pain.

But Jabez refused to be defined by his name. He refused to be limited by his past, his circumstances, or his family’s expectations. Instead of accepting his fate, he “called on the God of Israel.” His prayer is a masterclass in faith-filled petition. It was:

  1. Bold: He asked to be blessed “indeed”—abundantly and noticeably.

  2. Expansive: He asked for an enlargement of his territory—his influence, his opportunities, his impact.

  3. Dependent: He pleaded for God’s hand—His power, guidance, and favor—to be upon him.

  4. Protective: He asked for deliverance from evil, so that he would not fulfill the painful prophecy of his name.

The result? “So God granted him what he requested.” Your past does not determine your future. The labels people have given you, the pain associated with your beginnings, and the limitations of your current “territory” are not final. Today, God is inviting you to do what Jabez did: to rise above your genealogy and your history, and to call upon Him with specific, audacious faith. Your prayer has the power to rewrite your story.

Prayer Points for 4 December 2025

  1. Pray for a Bold Blessing: “Oh Lord, bless me indeed! Let Your blessing be tangible and evident in my life, my family, my finances, and my health. I ask for a supernatural manifestation of Your goodness that cannot be denied.” (1 Chronicles 4:10)

  2. Pray for Enlargement of Territory: “Father, enlarge my coast! Expand my sphere of influence for Your glory. Give me new opportunities, greater responsibilities, and a wider reach to impact my generation for Your kingdom.” (1 Chronicles 4:10)

  3. Pray for the Manifest Presence of God: “Lord, let Your hand be with me. Guide my decisions, empower my actions, and let Your presence be the distinguishing mark upon my life. Where I go, let Your hand go with me.” (1 Chronicles 4:10)

  4. Pray for Divine Protection: “Heavenly Father, keep me from evil. Deliver me from every trap, snare, and plot of the enemy. Preserve me from sin, temptation, and all forms of harm, so that I may not cause or experience pain.” (1 Chronicles 4:10)

  5. Pray for a Break from the Past: “In the name of Jesus, I break the power of every negative label, generational curse, and painful prophecy over my life. Like Jabez, I rewrite my story today through prayer and declare that my destiny is in Christ alone.” (1 Chronicles 4:9)

  6. Pray for Honor and Excellence: “God, make me more honorable, as You did for Jabez. Grant me grace for excellence, integrity, and wisdom in all my endeavors.” (1 Chronicles 4:9)

  7. Pray for the ODM Global Family: “I pray for every person connected to ODM worldwide. Grant them the faith of Jabez to pray boldly and see You answer miraculously, rewriting their family stories for Your glory.”

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: YOUR JABEZ MOMENT HAS COME! The Lord says: “The chapter of pain is closing. The season of enlargement is here. I am summoning you to pray with a boldness you have never before possessed. Ask of Me! For the legacy I have written for you is not one of sorrow, but of abundant blessing and vast territory. I am erasing the memory of your pain and establishing you in a wide place. Pray now, for I am listening.”

AMEN!
