BASIC SCRIPTURES: JOHN 5:30; ACTS 9: 1-16

Basic Scriptures in Full (KJV)

JOHN 5:30 (KJV):

“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”

ACTS 9:1-16 (KJV):

1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

Prayer Points

1. Prayer for Alignment with God’s Will (From John 5:30 KJV)

  • Father, as Jesus said, “I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father,” I pray for that same heart. Align my will completely with Yours in every decision I make.

  • Lord, I can of my own self do nothing. I surrender my judgment and my plans. Let my life be a reflection of Your just and perfect will.

  • Holy Spirit, help me to hear as Jesus heard, so that I may judge rightly and walk in the path You have ordained for me.

2. Prayer for a Saul-to-Paul Transformation (From Acts 9:1-16 KJV)

  • Lord Jesus, just as You intercepted Saul on the Damascus road, intercept my life today. Where I am “breathing out threatenings and slaughter” against Your purpose through my actions or ignorance, reveal Yourself to me.

  • Shine Your heavenly light upon my path. Remove the scales of spiritual blindness from my eyes so that I may see Your truth and my true purpose.

  • I come against every assignment and authority that is not from You, in the name of Jesus. Let every plan contrary to Your will be bound and rendered powerless.

3. Prayer for a New Identity and Purpose (From Acts 9:15-16 KJV)

  • Heavenly Father, You declared Saul to be a “chosen vessel.” I receive my identity as Your chosen instrument. Reveal to me the specific people and places You are sending me to bear Your name.

  • Anoint me for the purpose You have designed. I declare my readiness to bear the name of Jesus “before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.”

  • Grant me the grace to endure whatever I must suffer for Your name’s sake, knowing that Your power is made perfect in my weakness.

4. Prayer for Obedience in the “Ananias” Season

  • Lord, give me the obedient heart of Ananias, who said, “Behold, I am here, Lord.” When You call me to a difficult task, let this be my immediate response.

  • Use me as Your hand to restore sight and to fill others with Your Holy Spirit. Make me a vessel of confirmation and healing in the lives of those You are transforming.

Declarations

1. I declare today that I can of my own self do nothing. I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father who sent me. My judgment is just because it is guided by His voice. (John 5:30)

2. I declare that the light from heaven shines upon my path, exposing every work of darkness. I hear the voice of the Lord saying, “Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.” I walk in divine direction. (Acts 9:3-6)

3. I declare that I am a chosen vessel of the Lord! I am ordained to bear His name before nations, leaders, and all people. I am set apart for a glorious and impactful purpose in the kingdom of God. (Acts 9:15)

4. I declare that every scale of blindness falls from my eyes now in the name of Jesus! I receive my spiritual sight and am filled with the Holy Ghost. (Acts 9:17-18)

5. I declare that I am an Ananias in my generation. I am sensitive, available, and obedient to the Lord’s voice, ready to be sent as a vessel of healing and restoration.

6. I decree that my past is redeemed. My former life of error is over. I am a new creation in Christ, and my life is a testimony of the transformative power of Jesus Christ!

In the Mighty Name of Jesus, I pray and declare these things. Amen.
