Basic Scripture for 2 December 2025: Prayer Points and Declarations

BASIC SCRIPTURES: GENESIS 50:15-21 & 1 CORINTHIANS 1:27

GENESIS 50:15-21 (NKJV)

15 When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “Perhaps Joseph will hate us, and may actually repay us for all the evil which we did to him.” 16 So they sent messengers to Joseph, saying, “Before your father died he commanded, saying, 17 ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph: “I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you.”’ Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him. 18 Then his brothers also went and fell down before his face, and they said, “Behold, we are your servants.” 19 Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? 20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. 21 Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.

1 CORINTHIANS 1:27 (NKJV)

27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.

Reflection: The Divine Reversal

Today’s scriptures present one of the most profound mysteries and greatest comforts of our faith: God’s power to orchestrate a divine reversal. He specializes in taking what the enemy meant for your destruction and rewriting the narrative for your salvation and His glory.

In Genesis, we see the culmination of Joseph’s painful journey. His brothers, terrified after their father’s death, finally confront the guilt they have carried for decades. They expect retaliation, but what they receive is a revelation of God’s sovereignty. Joseph’s declaration in verse 20 is a cornerstone of our faith: “You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good.” The very pits, prisons, and betrayals designed to break him were the tools God used to position him for purpose.

This truth is powerfully echoed in 1 Corinthians 1:27. The world’s system values strength, wisdom, and power. But God’s economy operates on a different principle. He deliberately chooses the foolish, weak, and despised things—the situations and people the world has written off—to confound the proud and demonstrate that the victory is His alone.

Are you in a situation that looks foolish? Do you feel weak in the face of your challenges? Be encouraged! You are prime material for a miracle. God is not limited by your setbacks; He is glorified through them. Your “pit” is not your final destination; it is a setup for a promotion you could never have engineered yourself. Trust Him today with the story that seems broken, for He is the master of the divine reversal.

Prayer Points for 2 December 2025

  1. Thank God for His Sovereign Plan: “Father, I thank You that You are the God who reigns over every plot and plan of the enemy. I worship You for Your power to turn every evil meant against me into a testimony of good.” (Genesis 50:20)

  2. Release Forgiveness and Break Bitterness: “Lord, just as Joseph forgave his brothers, I choose from my heart to forgive everyone who has wronged, hurt, or betrayed me. I release them now and I ask You to heal every wound, in Jesus’ name.” (Genesis 50:17, 21)

  3. Pray for a Revelation of God’s Purpose in Your Pain: “Holy Spirit, open my eyes to see the ‘good’ You are working out in my current struggle. Help me to perceive Your hand, even in the darkness, and trust Your sovereign plan.” (Genesis 50:20)

  4. Declare God’s Confounding Wisdom Over Your Situation: “Father, I thank You that You have chosen the weak and foolish things of my life to shame the strong. Let Your wisdom be displayed in my weaknesses and Your power be perfected in my inadequacies.” (1 Corinthians 1:27)

  5. Pray for the Fear of the Lord Over Your Heart: “Lord, baptize me in the fear of the Lord, as Joseph had. Remove every spirit of fear of man and retaliation, and place in me a holy awe that recognizes ‘Am I in the place of God?’” (Genesis 50:19)

  6. Ask for Divine Provision and Generosity: “God of Joseph, I ask for the grace not only to survive my tests but to thrive and become a provider for others. Give me a heart like Joseph’s, to provide and speak kindly to those who have hurt me.” (Genesis 50:21)

  7. Pray for the Global ODM Family: “I pray for every member of the ODM family worldwide who is waiting for their ‘divine reversal.’ Strengthen their faith, comfort their hearts, and let them see Your salvation in their situations before this year ends.”

Daily Declarations

  • I declare that every evil plan against my life, family, and destiny is hereby reversed by God’s sovereign power for my good.

  • I declare that I am not in the place of God. I release all vengeance and bitterness, and I walk in the supernatural freedom of forgiveness.

  • I declare that what the enemy meant for evil in my life, God has already orchestrated for my good and for the salvation of many.

  • I declare that I am a candidate for a divine reversal. My weaknesses and foolishnesses are God’s chosen tools to shame the wise and the mighty of this world.

  • I declare that my story will not end in the pit or the prison; it will end in the palace, fulfilling God’s purpose.

  • I declare that I will not live in fear of man, but in the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom.

  • I declare that this season, I will become a source of provision and comfort to others, even those who have hurt me.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: RECEIVE YOUR “BUT GOD” TURNAROUND! The Lord says: “The page is turning. The season of recompense is here. The very situations that were designed to bury you are now being activated as your launching platform. Watch as I confound the wise with your story and use your past pain to fuel your future purpose. Your ‘But God’ moment is at hand.”

AMEN!
