BASIC SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 26: 9-16

Basic Scripture for 3 December 2025: Prayer Points and Declarations

BASIC SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 26:12-22 (Focus on key themes from v. 9-16)

9 So Abimelech called Isaac and said, “Quite obviously she is your wife; so how could you say, ‘She is my sister’?” And Isaac said to him, “Because I said, ‘Lest I die on account of her.’”
10 And Abimelech said, “What is this you have done to us? One of the people might soon have lain with your wife, and you would have brought guilt on us.”
11 So Abimelech charged all his people, saying, “He who touches this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.”
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him.
13 The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous;
14 for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him.
15 Now the Philistines had stopped up all the wells which his father’s servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, and they had filled them with earth.
16 And Abimelech said to Isaac, “Go away from us, for you are much mightier than we.”

*(Note: The full narrative of Isaac’s perseverance in digging wells is found in Genesis 26:12-22, which provides the complete picture of his blessed struggle.)*

Reflection: Blessed Until They Are Bothered

The story of Isaac in Gerar is a masterclass in understanding the nature of God’s blessing and the inevitable opposition it attracts. Isaac simply obeyed God by staying in the land during a famine (v. 2-3), and as a result, he sowed and “reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him” (v. 12). His blessing was supernatural, undeniable, and progressive—he “continued prospering until he became very prosperous” (v. 13).

However, verse 14 reveals the tipping point: “So the Philistines envied him.” Your divine blessing will often provoke demonic harassment. Your success can become a source of someone else’s stress. The same Philistines who once protected him (v. 11) later became his persecutors, stopping up the wells of his father (v. 15) and eventually ejecting him from their territory out of fear (v. 16).

But here is the powerful lesson: The enemy can block your well, but they cannot block your blessing. Isaac’s response was not to fight the Philistines, but to persistently dig new wells. He kept moving, kept digging, and kept trusting God until he reached a place of wide open spaces and divine victory (Rehoboth, v. 22). Your blessing from God makes you a target, but it also makes you untouchable. The same God who gave you the hundredfold harvest will guide you to dig new wells when the old ones are stopped up. Don’t fear the envy of man; it is often a sign that you are walking in the fullness of God’s promise.

Prayer Points for 3 December 2025

  1. Thank God for the Hundredfold Blessing: “Father, I thank You for Your promise to bless me a hundredfold even in the midst of famine and difficulty. I worship You as the source of my supernatural increase.” (Genesis 26:12)

  2. Pray Against the Spirit of Envy: “I come against every spirit of envy and jealousy rising against my life, family, business, and ministry, just as it rose against Isaac. I nullify its power and declare that no weapon formed against my prosperity shall prosper.” (Genesis 26:14)

  3. Decree the Re-opening of Blocked Wells: “In the name of Jesus, I command every ‘well’ of inheritance, opportunity, and blessing that the enemy has blocked in my life to be reopened. Let the springs of living water and provision begin to flow again!” (Genesis 26:15)

  4. Ask for the Spirit of Perseverance: “Holy Spirit, give me the grace of Isaac to keep digging and not give up. When I face opposition, help me to walk away from strife and persistently seek the new place of abundance You have for me.” (Genesis 26:18-22)

  5. Declare Divine Ejection from Stagnant Places: “Lord, just as Abimelech told Isaac to leave, I pray You would eject me from every environment, relationship, and mindset that is too confined for Your blessing. Propel me into my Rehoboth—my place of spaciousness.” (Genesis 26:16, 22)

  6. Pray for Protection Over Your Blessing: “I cover my home, finances, health, and family with the blood of Jesus. I decree that what God has blessed, no man can curse or plunder.”

  7. Pray for the ODM Community’s Prosperity: “Father, I pray for every member of the ODM family worldwide. Let them experience a hundredfold return in every area of their lives this season. Bless them until they are a blessing to nations.”

  • I decree that I will reap a hundredfold harvest in the same year, even in the midst of spiritual and economic famine.

  • I declare that every spirit of envy and jealousy assigned against my progress is rendered powerless now in Jesus’ name.

  • I decree that every well of my inheritance that has been stopped up by the enemy is being reopened today.

  • I declare that I have the perseverance of Isaac. I will not fight people; I will simply keep digging new wells of opportunity.

  • I declare that I am moving from a place of contention and strife to my place of spaciousness and victory (Rehoboth).

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: THE BLESSING IS STIRRING ENVY! The Lord says: “Do not be alarmed by the new resistance you are facing. It is a sign that the magnitude of My blessing upon your life has become visible. The wells they stopped up were from a past season. I am leading you to dig new wells that will yield fresher water and greater abundance. Your persistence in the face of opposition is unlocking your Rehoboth.”

AMEN!
