Basic Scripture for Today: Wednesday, 10th September 2025

AMOS 8: 11-14 (NKJV)

11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea, And from north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord, But shall not find it.
13 “In that day the fair virgins And strong young men Shall faint from thirst.
14 Those who swear by the sin of Samaria, Who say, ‘As your god lives, O Dan!’ And, ‘As the way of Beersheba lives!’ They shall fall and never rise again.”

JUDE 1-3 (NKJV)

1 Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ:
2 Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.
3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

Prayer Points and Declarations

1. Prayer for a Hunger for God’s Word:
Heavenly Father, in a world filled with spiritual famine, I pray against any dryness in my spirit. Ignite in me a desperate hunger and an unquenchable thirst for Your Word. Let me crave Your truth more than my daily bread. (Based on Amos 8:11)

2. Prayer to Cherish and Access Truth:
Lord, thank You that I live in a day where Your Word is readily available. I pray I never take it for granted. Guard me from wandering to and fro, seeking truth in wrong places. Let me always find living water and the bread of life in Your presence and in Scripture. (Based on Amos 8:12)

3. Prayer for Spiritual Strength:
I declare that I will not faint from spiritual thirst. I am strengthened by Your Spirit. I am rooted and built up in Christ, and I draw from the never-ending well of salvation daily. (Based on Amos 8:13)

4. Prayer for Discernment and Purity of Faith:
Father, I renounce all idolatry and false beliefs (“the sin of Samaria”). Open my eyes to any compromise in my faith. I choose to swear by Your name alone. My allegiance is to the one true God, revealed in Jesus Christ. (Based on Amos 8:14)

5. Prayer to Contend for the Faith:
Like Jude, I receive the exhortation to contend earnestly for the faith. Empower me by Your Spirit to stand firm, defend sound doctrine, and hold fast to the truth of the gospel that was once for all delivered to the saints. (Based on Jude 1:3)

6. Prayer for Multiplied Grace:
I receive Your multiplied mercy, peace, and love today. I am called, sanctified, and preserved in Jesus Christ. I walk in the confidence of my salvation and identity in Him. (Based on Jude 1:1-2)

• I declare there is no famine of God’s Word in my life. I am fed, nourished, and satisfied by the truth of the Scriptures daily.

• I declare that I am preserved in Jesus Christ. I will not fall away; I will stand firm until the end by His grace.

• I declare that I am a contender for the faith. I will not be silent about the truth of the gospel. I am equipped to defend what I believe.

• I declare that mercy, peace, and love are multiplied to me and through me to others today.

• I declare that I am free from all spiritual idolatry. My heart is loyal to the Lord, and I worship Him in spirit and in truth.
