Basic Scripture for Today: 12 September 2025

NUMBERS 14: 26 – 39 (KJV)

26 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
27 How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.
28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:
29 Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,
30 Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
31 But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.
32 But as for you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.
33 And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.
34 After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.
35 I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.
36 And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,
37 Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.
38 But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.
39 And Moses told these sayings unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.

Prayer Points:

  1. Prayer Against a Grumbling Spirit: Father, in the name of Jesus, uproot every spirit of murmuring, complaining, and negativity from my heart. Let my words be filled with faith and gratitude, not fear and unbelief. (Based on verse 27).

  2. Prayer for a Different Spirit: Lord, like Caleb and Joshua, grant me a “different spirit”—a spirit of faith, courage, and wholehearted obedience to follow You completely, even when others doubt. (Based on verse 24 & 30).

  3. Prayer for the Next Generation: I pray for the young people and children in my sphere of influence. Protect their destiny from the consequences of the unbelief of previous generations. Bring them into the promises and inheritance You have for them. (Based on verse 31).

  4. Prayer for Consecration: Father, consume every work of the flesh and every evil report in my life. Let every plague of sin, sickness, and lack be destroyed by the fire of Your holiness. (Based on verse 37).

  5. Prayer to Enter Your Promised Land: By faith, I declare that I will not die in the wilderness of lack, sickness, or failure. I will cross over and possess every promise You have sworn to me. (Based on verses 30, 38).

Declarations:

  1. I declare that I am not part of an evil congregation that murmurs against God. My mouth speaks faith, and my heart trusts in the Lord’s promises.

  2. I declare that I have the spirit of Joshua and Caleb. I see through the eyes of faith and I am well able to possess my promised land.

  3. I declare that my children and spiritual descendants will inherit the blessings of God and enjoy the land that the enemy tried to steal.

  4. I declare that every evil report and every spirit of slander assigned against my destiny dies now by the fire of God’s judgment.

  5. I declare that I am a possessor, not a wanderer. I am moving forward into God’s abundance, victory, and rest. My wilderness season is over, in Jesus’ name!
