ZECHARIAH 9: 1-10 (NKJV)
1 The burden of the word of the Lord against the land of Hadrach, and Damascus its resting place (For the eyes of men and all the tribes of Israel are on the Lord);
2 Also against Hamath, which borders it, and against Tyre and Sidon, though they are very wise.
3 For Tyre built herself a tower, Heaped up silver like dust, And gold like the mire of the streets.
4 Behold, the Lord will cast her out; He will destroy her power in the sea, And she shall be devoured by fire.
5 Ashkelon shall see it and fear; Gaza also shall be very sorrowful; And Ekron, for He dried up her expectation. The king shall perish from Gaza, And Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.
6 “A mixed race shall settle in Ashdod, And I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
7 I will take away the blood from his mouth, And the abominations from between his teeth. But he who remains, even he shall be for our God, And shall be like a leader in Judah, And Ekron like a Jebusite.
8 I will camp around My house because of the army, Because of him who passes by and him who returns. No more shall an oppressor pass through them, For now I have seen with My eyes.
9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.
10 I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim And the horse from Jerusalem; The battle bow shall be cut off. He shall speak peace to the nations; His dominion shall be ‘from sea to sea, And from the River to the ends of the earth.’
Prayer Points:
-
PRAYER AGAINST OPPRESSION: Just as the Lord promised to camp around His house and stop the oppressor (v. 8), pray for a hedge of divine protection around your life, family, and destiny. Declare, “No more shall any spiritual or physical oppressor pass through my territory, in Jesus’ name.”
-
PRAYER FOR SALVATION AND INCLUSION: Meditate on God’s mercy in verse 7, where even the remnant of the enemy becomes “for our God.” Pray for the salvation of those who seem far from God in your community and family. Ask the Lord to make them leaders in His kingdom.
-
PRAYER FOR THE KING’S COMING: Verse 9 is a prophecy of Jesus’ triumphal entry. Pray for a fresh revelation of Jesus, your King, to manifest in your situation. Declare, “King Jesus, come into my circumstances. Rule and reign in my heart, my home, and my affairs today.”
-
PRAYER FOR PEACE AND THE END OF CONFLICT: Based on verse 10, pray for the peace of Christ to silence every storm of conflict, anxiety, and warfare in your life. Declare an end to internal and external battles, trusting in His dominion that brings true peace.
-
PRAYER AGAINST PRIDE AND MATERIALISM: Tyre trusted in its wealth and wisdom (v. 3-4). Pray for deliverance from the love of money and pride. Ask God to destroy every trust that rivals your dependence on Him, so that your foundation is in Christ alone.
Declarations:
-
I declare today that the Lord is a wall of fire around me and my household. No weapon of the oppressor formed against me shall prosper, for the Lord has seen my situation with His eyes! (v. 8)
-
I declare that my King, Jesus Christ, is righteous and brings salvation to my situation. He is riding into my life today with victory, humility, and deliverance! I rejoice greatly for His presence is with me! (v. 9)
-
I declare the end of every long-standing battle in my life. The chariot of struggle is cut off! The horse of anxiety is removed! The battle bow of conflict is broken! I receive the peace of Christ that speaks to every storm. (v. 10)
-
I declare that the dominion of my God is established over every area of my life—from the smallest detail to the largest challenge. His rule extends from sea to sea, and there is no part of my life outside of His loving authority.
-
I declare that every plan of the enemy against my destiny is cast out and devoured by the fire of the Holy Spirit. My trust is not in silver, gold, or human wisdom, but in the name of the Lord my God! (v. 4)
In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
