LUKE 12: 15-22 (NKJV)

15 And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully.
17 And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’
18 So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”’
20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’
21 “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
22 Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on.

Prayer Points and Declarations

1. Prayer Against Covetousness:
Heavenly Father, I come before You today. I take heed of Your warning and I repent of every seed of covetousness, greed, and the love of money in my heart. Purify my desires, O Lord, and help me to find my security in You alone, not in the abundance of my possessions. (Based on verse 15)

2. Prayer for a Proper Perspective on Wealth:
Lord, grant me the wisdom to be a faithful steward of all You have entrusted to me. Help me to see my resources not as a means for selfish indulgence, but as tools for building Your kingdom and blessing others. Break the spirit of the “rich fool” in my life. (Based on verses 16-19)

3. Prayer for Eternal Focus:
Father, remind me daily that my life is but a vapour. Keep my soul anchored in eternity. Let me not be so focused on building earthly barns that I neglect to be rich toward You through faith, obedience, and love. (Based on verses 20-21)

I reject the spirit of anxiety and worry over my needs—what I will eat, drink, or wear. I cast all my cares upon You, Jesus, for I know You care for me. I choose to trust in Your faithful provision today. (Based on verse 22)

Holy Spirit, fill my heart with genuine contentment. Help me to be thankful for what I have today and to find joy in Your presence, which is the true riches of this life.

• I declare that I am rich toward God. My treasure is in heaven, and my heart is fixed on eternity.

• I declare that I will not worry about tomorrow. Today, I walk in the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, trusting in my Heavenly Father who knows what I need.
