📖 BASIC SCRIPTURE — MAY 27, 2025

MARK 8:31–38 (KJV)

31. And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

32. And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.

33. But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

34. And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

35. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.

36. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

37. Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

38. Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

🙏 PRAYERS OF SURRENDER, DISCIPLESHIP, AND KINGDOM FOCUS

1. Lord Jesus, thank You for enduring the cross for me. Teach me daily to understand the depth of Your love and the weight of Your sacrifice. Help me not to take Your suffering lightly.

2. Heavenly Father, I come to You in surrender. I deny myself today and take up my cross to follow Jesus. Whatever it will cost me to follow You, I receive the grace to obey and stay faithful.

3. Holy Spirit, deliver me from a mindset that chases worldly pleasures over kingdom purpose. Help me to prioritize the eternal over the temporary, the spiritual over the sensual, and heaven over the world.

4. Lord, where I have pursued selfish ambition over Your divine will, forgive me. Realign my heart to Your purpose. Help me not to resist Your calling, even when it’s uncomfortable or painful.

5. Father, may I never be ashamed of the gospel. In every season, before all people, let me boldly proclaim Your name. I refuse to hide my faith to please man.

6. Jesus, You said, “What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?” I choose eternal gain over worldly success. Let nothing come between me and You.

7. Gracious God, deliver me from the fear of rejection. Like Jesus was rejected by men, help me to accept that following You may mean being misunderstood, but I will still stand.

8. Lord, empower me to deny the flesh, crucify sinful desires, and embrace righteousness. Strengthen me to live holy, even in a sinful generation.

9. My Redeemer, I want to follow You not only in words but in lifestyle. May my actions reflect true discipleship. Let me live sacrificially and walk in love and humility.

10. Abba Father, prepare me for the return of the Son of Man in glory. Let my life be found worthy. Let me not be among those whom He will be ashamed of on that glorious day.

1. I deny myself, take up my cross, and follow Jesus with boldness and love.

2. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. I am a light in this dark world.

3. I choose the way of sacrifice over self, obedience over convenience, and the kingdom over this world.

4. I declare that nothing is worth more than my soul. I will not trade eternity for temporary gain.

5. I am crucified with Christ, and the life I now live is led by the Spirit of God.
