BASIC SCRIPTURES: 2 CORINTHIANS 13:1-8; 1 CORINTHIANS 11:28
2 Corinthians 13:1-8 (KJV)
1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:
3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.
4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
1 Corinthians 11:28 (KJV)
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

Prayer for October 10, 2023:
Heavenly Father,
As we reflect on the Scriptures from 2 Corinthians 13:1-8 and 1 Corinthians 11:28 today, we are reminded of the importance of self-examination, faith, and living in alignment with Your truth.
Lord, help us to examine our hearts and lives honestly. Show us where we may have strayed from Your path and give us the strength to turn back to You. We recognize that, like the Corinthians, we are weak in our human nature, but we find our strength in You. May we always seek the proof of Christ living within us through our actions and attitudes.
In our self-examination, reveal to us any areas where we need to repent, any relationships that need reconciliation, and any actions that are not in accordance with Your will. Grant us the wisdom to discern the truth and to walk in it.
As we partake in communion, may we do so with reverence and gratitude, remembering the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for our sins. Let this act of remembrance deepen our faith and commitment to follow You faithfully.
We pray for Your guidance and protection throughout this day. May Your Holy Spirit be our guide, and may we continue to grow in our faith and understanding of Your word.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
