Crossover Night Sermon: Stepping into the New Year with Faith, Gratitude, and Purpose

Text: Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Introduction

Beloved in Christ, tonight we gather on the brink of a significant transition—the end of one year and the dawn of another. As we reflect on the journey of the year gone by, we must pause to express profound gratitude for God’s faithfulness, mercy, and abundant grace. Each one of us has a story of challenges overcome, victories won, and lessons learned.

As we cross over into a new year, it is a time of renewal—renewal of our faith, our commitments, and our expectations. Let us look to the future with hope, anchored in God’s promises and guided by His Word.

Embrace your God-given roles with grace and strength.

Strengthen the family altar with regular prayer, worship, and Bible study.
Focus on open communication, forgiveness, and unity.
Plan family goals for the year—spiritually, financially, and relationally.

4. For Students

Resolve to be diligent in your studies, trusting God for academic excellence.
Choose godly friendships and avoid distractions that lead to compromise.
Develop leadership skills and use your talents to glorify God.

5. For Couples

Commit to building your marriage on the foundation of love, respect, and mutual submission.
Prioritize date nights and moments of intimacy to strengthen your bond.

Work with excellence and integrity, as unto the Lord.
