Failure is one of the most discouraging things in life. However, if you address failure with a winning attitude, failure will never discourage you and stop you from pursuing the desires of your heart. Take note of Noah’s attitude. His family was the only family that survived the flood. When the rain stopped, he waited a few days for the waters to dry up. He sent forth a dove but the dove returned after some hours. Then he waited for seven more days and sent out the dove. The dove returned again. He didn’t get discouraged. He didn’t start worrying. After another seven days, he sent out the dove, and then the dove never returned. Hope was restored.How long are you willing to stay at a task until you achieve the desired result? How long are you willing to stay in the place of prayer until you receive your answer from God? Persistence is very important. When you shoot at a target, and you miss, don’t give up. Missing doesn’t mean that you will never hit the target if you try again. Take another shot. James Russel Miller, popular author and editor of many Christian magazines, said, “It is not enough to begin; continuance is necessary. Mere enrolment will not make one a scholar; the pupil must continue in the school through the long course, until he masters every branch. Success depends upon staying power. The reason for failure in most cases is lack of perseverance.” How did you develop your ability to walk? By getting up every time you fell down. You took another shot at success. How did you develop your ability to write? By using your eraser every time you wrote rubbish in your nursery school exercise book. You took another shot at success. How did you develop your ability to pronounce words correctly? By pronouncing the correct words every time someone corrected you. You’ve Been ‘Taking Another Shot At Success’ All Your Life. Don’t Give Up Now! When you refuse to give up, no man will ever be able to stop you from getting whatever you desire! Hold on! Keep moving and hold out!
