TOPIC: Reaping What You Sow (DCLM Daily Manna 8 March 2022)

TEXT: Psalm 18:20-28 (KJV)

20 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

22 For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.

23 I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.

24 Therefore hath the Lord recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

25 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;

26 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.

27 For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.

28 For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

KEY VERSE: “With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself forward.” – (Psalm 18:26)

MESSAGE: Daily Manna 8 March 2022 DCLM

“Garbage in, garbage out” is a popular term in computer language. It simply means no one gets something else apart from what they store in the device. But the larger interpretation is the counsel that society must watch what it feeds its citizens. If we do not see the present as the embryo of the future and shape it for healthy growth and maturity, then we should not expect a sound future.

In this Davidic psalm of victory that followed a period of struggles, the writer celebrates his obedience to God, who in return, rewards him by delivering him from his enemies, chiefly Saul. The Lord does not deal with people haphazardly. If you obey His commandment to show mercy to the disadvantaged, then you are certain to receive mercy from Him.

Our relationship with God operates strictly based on our submission to Him and obedience to His word. He will show compassion to those who demonstrate compassion in complete obedience. Not showing mercy to the lost through preaching the love of Christ to them, the shallow believer must not expect the reward reserved for diligent soul-winners.

These all point to the inviolable law of sowing and reaping. One must be careful what one gives to God. He requires that you give Him your all. In return, He releases the inexhaustible resources of heaven to you. Determine to demonstrate God’s love and compassion to others and you will receive same. Sow righteousness, purity and godly living and expect God’s uncommon favour throughout life. Daily Manna 8 March 2022 DCLM

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Giving to God returns limitless riches.

THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Jeremiah 10-12

Lord Jesus, come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and Personal Saviour. I believe in my heart You died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank You Lord for saving me, in Jesus name Amen.
