Bulgaria is known for the export of Roses! This fragrant oil, is one of the most valuable products of Bulgaria and is heavily taxed for export. A tourist, unwilling to pay the duty, sought to evade customs by concealing two vials (tubes) of the precious fluid in his suitcase. Apparently, a little of the perfume had spilled in his suitcase. By the time he reached the train station, the aroma had emanated from the luggage, automatically declaring the presence of the hidden treasure. The authorities immediately knew what the man had done and confiscated the costly substance. Amazing! This indeed calls for laughter! I could have titled today’s devotional as “THE MAN THAT WAS ‘ROASTED’ BY ROSES!” Oh! Yes! ROASTED BY ROSES! The ROSE’s sweet fragrance “roasted” or disgraced him! A lot goes on in airports around the world daily. Don’t evade tax. As a Christian, do all you can to stay clean. But, how can a man put ROSES – a very powerful fragrance in a suitcase and think that he can stop it from expressing its Godgiven nature? Impossible! There is only one thing ROSES will do, and that is to bloom and glow. Jesus is referred to as “THE ROSE OF SHARON” (Songs of Solomon 2:1). If you have Him dwelling in you, the only thing that is permitted to happen in your life, family and ministry is for you to BLOOM and GLOW! Vs. 24 of today’s scripture says He could not be hidden! That will be the story of your life! The ROSE OF SHARON dwells in you and YOU CANNOT BE HIDDEN OR END IN SHAME! Pray seriously now!
