Scripture: Deuteronomy 2:1-6 (NIV)
“1 Then we turned back and set out toward the wilderness along the route to the Red Sea, as the Lord had directed me. For a long time we made our way around the hill country of Seir.
2 Then the Lord said to me, 3 “You have made your way around this hill country long enough; now turn north. 4 Give the people these orders: ‘You are about to pass through the territory of your relatives the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. They will be afraid of you, but be very careful. 5 Do not provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land, not even enough to put your foot on. I have given Esau the hill country of Seir as his own. 6 You are to pay them in silver for the food you eat and the water you drink.’”

Encouragement for April 5, 2024:
In Deuteronomy 2:1-6, we see God guiding the Israelites as they journey through the wilderness. This passage reminds us of several important principles that we can apply to our lives today.
- Divine Guidance: Just as God directed the Israelites on their journey, He also guides us in our lives. Trust in His leading and follow His directions, even if it means going in a different direction than we originally planned.
- Timing and Seasons: There is a time for everything. Like the Israelites, we may find ourselves going through seasons of waiting or circling around familiar territory. But God knows the right time to lead us forward into new opportunities and experiences.
- Caution and Diplomacy: When interacting with others, especially those who may be different from us, it’s important to exercise caution and diplomacy. Just as God instructed the Israelites to be careful when passing through the territory of their relatives, we should seek to maintain peace and avoid unnecessary conflict.
- Trust in God’s Provision: Even in unfamiliar situations, we can trust that God will provide for our needs. Just as the Israelites were instructed to pay for the food and water they consumed, we can rely on God’s provision and be grateful for His blessings.
As we reflect on this passage, let’s remember to trust in God’s guidance, exercise wisdom in our interactions with others, and rely on His provision in every circumstance. God is faithful, and He will lead us through every season of life. Daily Manna BASIC SCRIPTURE: 5 April 2024
