Be reminded that in 1955, a lady called Mrs. Rosa Louise McCauley Parks was an American civil rights activist who was best known for her refusal to move from her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama, USA, in defiance of the Jim Crow laws, which sparked the, “Montgomery bus boycott.” She is also sometimes known as the “mother of the civil rights movement.” A few days later, residents refused to board the city’s buses and Mrs Park made history; finding in herself the courage to confront the tyranny of prejudice and racism by sitting where she wanted. Her courage to confront a corrupt and wicked system/social disorder was what sparked off great men like Martin Luther King Jnr. into the greatest civil rights movement in American history. Martin Luther King Jnr. died in the process, but today in that great country, the blacks and whites are equal. The genesis was the courage and determination of just one woman.Your courage and determination in the midst of life’s battles and trials will re-write your history and could make you a great star for your generation. Ask Joshua! His secret was courage! Ask David when he faced the “mountain” called “Goliath.” His secret was courage! Dear pastor, to give what you don’t have is to steal! Be courageous – and only then can you impart courage to the people! Dear child of God, stop weeping and comparing yourself to others! Soon and very soon, your night will be over and joy will come in the morning! Do the unusual! Confront difficulties with uncommon perseverance! Should you fail, you will be honoured, but shrink and you will be despised! Yes indeed, close with what the Roman playwright, Mr. Plautus, said: “Courage in danger is half the battle.” That is why you must hold on and hold out! You will be celebrated! Amen and amen!
