Martin Luther King said, “I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality.” Mahatma Ghandi — considered to be the father of modern India, wrote on marble: “Adaptability is not imitation! It means power of resistance and assimilation. The weak can never forgive! Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong! The pursuit of truth does not permit violence on one’s opponent.” Wow! It’s no news that by his non-violence, ‘love for your enemies’ attitude, he fought Britain to a position of independence for India. Vs. 37 of today’s scripture (paraphrased) says: “You will forgive and ye shall be forgiven.” Realize that you can never be above anyone you hate or whose picture you carry daily in your mind. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong; let God use today’s devotional to turn you into a man/woman of strength. You must release anyone that has hurt you to God. You must know that you don’t get ulcers from what you eat. You get ulcers from what is eating you. Who or what is eating you? Be not the first to quarrel nor the last to make up! Stop being rigid and bitter. A wise man changes his mind sometimes, a fool never! To forget a wrong is the best revenge! Leave those that have hurt you for your God! VENGEANCE belongs to Him! Slowly and miraculously, peace will be restored to someone’s troubled soul today through forgiveness! Why must you cut off your nose (hurt yourself), to spite your face? Life is too short for squabbles of vanity! Peace! Peace!
