TOPIC: THE RIDDLE OF THE THREE FROGS! LISTEN AND WIN!
A young boy asked his father to solve a riddle. He said, “There were three frogs sitting on a log. One frog decided to jump off. How many were left?” The dad replied almost immediately even without winking, “two of course.” “You are wrong dad,” gleefully exclaimed the boy! “There were three frogs left. One frog only decided to jump off, but it didn’t jump.” Oh! Laugh! How was that? Really, a big school! Did Jesus not say: “Take heed therefore how ye hear…? Yes, James 1:19 declares further: “…be swift to hear..” and what it actually means is, “be a ready and attentive listener” — Amplified Bible. There is a difference between hearing and listening! Most of us hear a lot, but hardly listen! Listening involves understanding the kernel of what is being said! The father in the story above was hearing but was not listening! Think about that! Let God use your ears to help humanity on this planet before you enter eternity! Create the time to listen! People are hurting all around you! You can be a solution to someone, while God will in turn raise wonderful helpers for your life and ministry. Don’t rush people while they talk and don’t judge people based on a rumour! Find out just exactly what anybody said and what is meant by what he/she said! Careless listening has broken many marriages/relationships, shattered hundreds of churches and hindered breakthroughs due to misunderstanding and bitterness! Mr. Brewer Sydney said: “Gentleness in listening pushes its way silently like the tiniest daffodils (a trumpet-shaped flower) in spring, which raises the clod and thrusts it aside by the simple persistence of growing.” Don’t just be a hearer, be a good listener!
