Welcome to today’s devotional encounter with the God that fetches water with the basket to disgrace the bucket! Some Bible translations in line with the original Greek version, render vs. 27 of today’s scripture as, “because of fatness” instead of “because of the anointing.” The Holy Ghost is instructing me to tell you to be fat spiritually this year! As you seek for financial, marital or academic fatness (excellence), seek after spiritual fatness. Determine to pray the way you have never prayed before! Determine to do the type of fast you have never done before. Determine to do more night prayers! Determine to live pure and holy! Drop whatever will make you dry! Spiritual prosperity will always provoke other kinds of prosperity and open doors (see 3 John 2). Truth is that it is spiritual fatness that destroys the yoke! It is lack of knowledge and not lack of prayer that destroys God’s people! Determine to go deeper with your Bible this year! Why not draw up a disciplined plan to finish your Bible this year (see a plan on page 136 of this booklet). Why not spend more time to meditate on the Word this year even if you cannot finish your Bible? Determine to win more souls for Christ this year! Go fat spiritually! Your anointing as a man or woman of God grows as your time with the Word grows!A pastor or Christian worker who spends 1 hour with the Word daily will see less power than the one that spends more time! The Word is God and each time you stay with the Word, your godliness grows! Do you know that the greatest generator of God’s presence is His Word? Is it not true also that your praise and worship lifestyle is dry without knowledge (the Word)? Oh, I dread Psalm 106:15 a lot and pray never to reach that “bus-stop!” It says: “And He gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.” He gave them their heart’s desires! THEIR “RED SEAS” divided but they landed on an island of regrets! He answered their prayers! They got breakthroughs financially but got a breakdown in their souls! They got marital breakthroughs but became dry after marriage! They got a new song on their lips but they got new tears in their souls! What kind of life is that? Have you forgotten that life is gross vanity and the leanness in your soul is eternal bad news (Isaiah 40:6)? Use today’s devotional to cry: “I reject leanness in my soul. I shall be fat and this is the year in which yokes will break off my life and ministry by reason of the fatness of my soul (the anointing).” Shout “Anointing fire.” Every dryness will burn! - Holy Ghost, cause Your anointing to grow in me this year as I stay with the Word daily in Jesus name.
- By the fatness (anointing) of the Holy Ghost in me, I command
every “RED SEA” of the enemy to dry by fire in Jesus name. - Pray about today!
