Samson knew that Delilah didn’t mean well for him with the constant inquisition into what made him powerful (Judges 16:7) But Samson thought he could outsmart the devil by playing the devil’s game. Whenever Delilah asked for the source of his power, he would say one thing today and another the next day. He was having fun (Judges 16:14-15), forgetting that the devil has been in existence for eternity and knows every trick under the sun! He forgot that the devil knows how to play the long game! He forgot that the devil has billions of years of experience! Terry Smith quipped, “The devil doesn’t need to overpower you—he just needs to outlast you.” So while Samson toyed with fire, he underestimated the furnace! He mistook delay for safety, and eventually, Delilah wore him down. Hear this again – “The devil doesn’t need to overpower you—he just needs to outlast you.” That’s the strategy of hell; persistence! The devil does not always strike at once! He lulls, he waits, he watches. One lie led to another, until Samson’s soul was too tired to resist, and he gave up the truth that cost him his strength, his sight, and his destiny! That’s what testing the devil looks like! Do not dance near the edge thinking you’ll step back in time. Flee! Don’t test! Run! Proverbs 6:27 asks, “Can a man scoop fire into his lap without burning his clothes?” Stop playing the devil’s game! The devil does not play! One visit to that witch doctor could cost you your destiny! One little lie, just one act of fornication, one act of adultery, and the hedge is broken! Refuse to play the devil’s game! Never forget: Samson underestimated the furnace! Never play the devil’s game! He is an expert in PATIENCE till he turns your name to, “HAD-I KNOWN!” GIVE OUT 5 ODM COPIES! GET YOUR PSALM!
