once heard the tale of a man who went in search of gold during the gold rush in America. The man in his early seventies had been living on the sales of the LITTLE pieces of gold he dug up. One day, he had a nudge to go dig a certain spot. He told his colleagues to come with him, but they told him he had always had hunches but all amounted to nothing. Once he got to the area, he started to dig. After three good days of digging, his hoe finally hit what he believed was gold. In anxious anticipation, he dropped the hoe and did the remaining part with his fingers, and there it was: The bar of gold that was going to change his life forever. Screaming at the top of his voice with glorious elation, suddenly, a resounding gunshot rent the air and the old man collapses on the ground and died. Till this day no one knows who shot him, if it was his friend or someone who had been hiding behind the bushes waiting for him to strike gold. Whoever it was, it was an enemy of glory. Oh, what a disaster! Listen: Enemies of glory are everywhere! They are wicked and very patient! They are envious! They are EVIL SPIES! They wait until the victim has struck gold and they see to it that their victim does not enjoy the glory that comes thereafter! These enemies have gunned down many people at the verge of their breakthroughs. But that is not your portion! As 2023 ends, enemies of glory may lurk in the shadows, but their schemes will be futile. God will set a table before you in their presence and you will feast/dance your dance of congratulations! When hidden enemies (SPIES) arise, fear not, for God stands as your defender.
