HEBREWS 1:3-5
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Here are the passages from the Bible:
John 1:1-5 (NIV): “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
This passage from the Gospel of John is a profound introduction to Jesus Christ, referred to as the Word. It emphasizes the eternal nature of the Word, His divine existence with God from the beginning, and His role in the creation of all things. The passage highlights that Jesus is the source of life and light for humanity, shining in the darkness, signifying hope and the inability of darkness to overpower His light.
Hebrews 1:3-5 (NIV): “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs. For to which of the angels did God ever say, ‘You are my Son; today I have become your Father’? Or again, ‘I will be his Father, and he will be my Son’?”
In Hebrews, the author highlights the supremacy of Jesus Christ, affirming His divine nature and His exalted position as superior even to angels. It emphasizes Jesus as the perfect representation of God’s being and the sustainer of all creation. The passage acknowledges Jesus’s role in providing purification for sins through His sacrifice and His subsequent position at the right hand of God.
Both passages exalt Jesus Christ as divine, emphasizing His eternal existence, His role in creation, His position as the source of life and light, and His superiority over all creation, including angels. These verses underscore Jesus’s unique and central role in the divine plan for redemption and salvation.
