Today’s scripture talks about the life and trials of Job. Job 29 _ deals extensively with Job’s past, while Job 30 deals with his travail and trials when he was alive.
Job 31 deals with Job’s twelve reasons why he should not have passed through what he was
going through.
He was telling God in Job 31, that he had been holy and therefore calamities should not have befallen him. A kind of irony! Why should righteous people suffer?
Why should I pay my tithes, forgive others, live in purity of heart and still go trials of life? In Job 30:20, he said, “I cried unto Thee and Thou dost not hear me. I stand up, and Thou regardest it not.” Yes, there are times when it seems that God does not answer prayers.
Comparing Job’s prosperity (Job I) and
his adversity (Job 2 – Job 37) is like an article I saw a year ago, titled:
“A BEND ON THE ROAD, IS NOT THE END OF THE ROAD.” Job had a bend (trial) but that was not the end of his life.
We all go through bends (crisis, delays, disappointments.) etc., but don’t forget, it is not over yet. Failure is not final, till you permit it. Psalm 34:19 says: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him/her out of them all.”
There is always a “but” which will make the difference, no matter your affliction. Don’t curse God! His time of visitation shall come mightily upon you your family. Remember a bend on the road is not and cannot be the end of that road.
Wait on the Lord. Don’t cry, and don’t quit. No wonder Robert H. Schuller quipped: “The only place where your dream becomes impossible is in your own thinking.”
Abraham Lincoln wrote also:
“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorns have roses.
Close with Fernando Sabino: “In the end.
everything will be okay. If it’s not okay, it’s not yet the end.” Wow! That is why you must NEVER QUIT! Learn from Job!
If you hold on, you will be celebrated at the end of the road because God will do what will turn your PAST INSULTS to tangible RESULTS! The journey is not yet over, till it is over. Hold on and hold out as you look up to Him
