The story here is reminiscent of what will happen on the last day when we will behold folks that will make it to heaven. There will be great surprises. The passage of today tells it all. As Jesus journeyed toward Jerusalem, someone asked Him to give statistics of how many would be saved. In other words, the person would like to know how many would make it to heaven at last. Jesus simply told him that heaven would be full of surprises. Many who think they are doing well now, may just find out that they are below God’s expectations. Jesus went on to say that He would tell them, “I know you not from whence ye are; depart from Me, all ye workers of iniquity” (Verse 27). He concluded by saying this in Verse 30: “And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.” That is where the surprise comes in, because those we expect to be first may end up in the last position, and vice versa, as seen in the story of the BEV. Since, surprises await us on the last day, you need to be sure you are on the right path to heaven. Church denomination, a family history of Christianity, religion, moral righteousness, being a naturally kind person, philanthropy, and all such things cannot get one there. It is equivalent to attempting to enter the kingdom through another door which Christ warned against in Verse 24 of today’s reading. Please be sure you have actually given your life to Christ, and you are washed by His Blood.IF YOU ARE NOT SURE YOU ARE TRULY BORN AGAIN, SEE PAGE 28 NOW! This, in combination with holiness, gives a guarantee to the kingdom. Don’t be a casualty of surprises on the last day. Remember: It was not a Ford, Tesla or Hummer! It was a relatively unknown RIVIAN Company that was the first to produce the ELECTRIC CAR! Heaven is full of surprises! Live holy and live ready!
