Verse 12 of today’s scripture is our devotional emphasis today. It says: “I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.” How can somebody be alive, yet it’s as though he is dead? The Psalmist says, “I am alive, but people have completely forgotten about me as if I am already dead.” This is the plight of many souls today; they are still alive, but they appear to be dead. I decree: May you never come to that point in Jesus name! Whatever will make men forget you as if you are nonexistent, may it pass over you now by fire! Note these words again: “I AM LIKE A BROKEN VESSEL.” What do you do when life, situations, circumstances or people make you break down? Yes, sometimes, God allows things to break you, so that He can mould you and make you a better person through them. “I AM LIKE A BROKEN VESSEL!” Oh! God is still interested in you even if your life is broken, battered and shattered. Always remember that: TRAGEDIES are OPPORTUNITIES through which God chooses to exhibit His power, grace and glory! A close look at the life of David, Joseph, Jephthah, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jnr, Nelson Mandela, etc, will show you that people who have been broken become better, more effective, resolved and courageous than they had ever been. Someone has said: “The best things that come to us are not those that accrue from having our way, but by letting God have His way.” Broken Vessels are divine raw materials in God’s hands.
