TOPIC: THE DOCTOR’S LOST CAR: CARRIERS OF BAD NEWS; FIGHT YOURSELVES!

Not too long ago, on a Sunday afternoon in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, a medical doctor worked over the night and left work to attend a church service. He stopped over at the Tako market in the FCT on his way back from church to do some shopping. He parked his car in front of the market, got in there and purchased what he needed. He spent only 20 minutes in the market. Unknown to him, he was being watched by eyes that had evil intentions. He came out and headed to where he had parked the car. To his utter amazement, the vehicle had disappeared. In the car were his laptop which contained some jobs to be delivered to his customers, a tablet, 200 Euros and other personal items. The shocked young doctor thought he probably forgot where he parked the car. He went round the whole market asking if they had seen his car type/colour. Everyone gave him a negative answer. He finally went to the police to make a report. The search is still on and the young man has been left devastated. What he had labored to acquire was taken away from him in a moment. In today’s scripture, Job had worked hard and the Lord had blessed him such that he had become the richest man in the east. Check out his wealth: 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, 500 female asses, 7 sons, 3 daughters and a great household (Job 1: 2-3). It was indeed a great fortune. However, in one day Job lost all his fortune. In his very eyes, everything he had worked for disappeared. Four messengers brought him the bad news. Messenger 1: The Sabeans have stolen your oxen and asses; in addition they have killed all your servants in charge of these animals except me… Wow! (To be continued tomorrow).
