Ants are always on the move. They are very sensitive and can carve their path to wherever food is. They are united, strong, determined and can carry almost anything. Their actions and lifestyle during summer shows that they are positively-minded creatures. Charles F. Kettering, American inventor and engineer, who has more than one hundred patents to his name, said something remarkable about living with expectations: “Keep On Going, And The Chances Are That You Will Stumble On Something, Perhaps When You Are Least Expecting It. I Never Heard Of Anyone Ever Stumbling On Something Sitting Down.” Look at Verse 5 of our Basic Scripture for today. That lame man was expectant. There is something about beggars. They never give up… it can be irritating sometimes. For this man, his persistence was rooted in one thing: he knew that one day, his deliverance would come. His friends would carry him everyday and dump him at the temple gate where he would beg for alms. He begged with expectancy. And when Peter and John came walking into the temple, he turned to them to ask for alms. Peter and John had strong expectations. They knew that if Jesus was truly alive, He would have been able to heal this lame man. “Look on us…” Peter said. His expectancy hooked up with the expectancy of that lame man, and he got his miracle. The Bible says that “Two are better than one.” You need to be careful about the people you hang out with in 2024. Don’t surround yourself with people who are specialists at destroying dreams and injuring positive expectations. Look up! Hold on and hold out!
