Verses 1 & 2 of today’s scripture says: “And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab…and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.

And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, … and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.” David saw the woman because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time! He saw the woman because he forgot that WAR time and PEACE time are different and compulsory seasons of a man’s life! He saw the woman because he was trying to accelerate his PEACE SEASON!
The truth is that if David had been at the warfront, he would not have fallen into adultery! Likewise, the all-wise and all-knowing God allows seasons of war and battles into your life because Every Allowed Battle Has An Arranged Purpose To Accomplish! David also said later in Psalm 144:1: “Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.”

I cannot explain why God has allowed or is allowing certain things into your life this year, but always remember that HE IS TEACHING YOU SOMETHING! Remember that for twelve long years, Bro John Bunyan languished in prison. It was here, however, that he wrote his famous, “Pilgrim’s Progress,” one of the world’s most read books. Bunyan said, “I was at home in prison, and I sat down and wrote.” Had Bunyan not been in prison, it is highly unlikely that he would have ever written his famous work.
Don’t give up now! That trial shows that God is up to something and the best is yet to come for you!

- What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer! Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer!
- Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged— Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful, Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness— Take it to the Lord in prayer.
- Are we weak and heavy-laden, Cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge— Take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms He’ll take and shield thee, Thou wilt find a solace there.
