Welcome to today’s devotion of deliverance! Share this quote with me by Max Lucado, “Focus on the giants— and you will stumble. Focus on God— and your giants will tumble.” I call that, “The God-focus formula.” It was the same formula David applied when he faced Goliath. Instead of describing how huge and tall Goliath was, he described his God. Yes! As a matter of fact, David even paid more attention to the stones he picked than he did to Goliath. He refused to wear an armour that would protect him from Goliath! He refused to take spears that could have easily pierced Goliath’s skin. Instead, he picked stones! Ah! In this 2nd half of 2025, YOU MUST KNOW YOUR WEAPONS OF WAR! David knew his weapons – STONES! Ha! Ha! Ha! Even Goliath was embarrassed! He said in anger, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?(1 Samuel 17:43). Beloved, the BATTLES OF LIFE WILL NOT CEASE but stop making giants out of your situations! Instead, look down on them. That’s the only way you can look up to your ROCK! Peter could have walked a mile longer on water, but he focused on the giant tide and HE BEGAN TO SINK (Matthew 14:28-31). Don’t focus on the adversity; focus on God. No matter what you go through, stay in faith! LOOK UP DAILY! Stop that fear! Stop that worry! Never forget Max Lucado: “Focus on the giants—and you will stumble. Focus on God— and your giants will tumble.” You will laugh at that giant at last! Hold on and Hold out!
