T here are many things in life that can cause a man/woman’s head to be held down. One of such things is fruitlessness and barrenness. When every other person around you is fruitful and making progress in life, and it seems as if you are just in one spot, your mouth will be closed and your head will be down. That was Hannah’s situation. She had become the subject of Peninnah’s joke. She had no say in family affairs again. The only string of hope she had was that her husband still liked her and he gave her a listening ear. But one day, Hannah decided in her heart, ‘enough is enough. I was not born to be barren…’ She stood in the presence of the Lord until she got her answer. She was desperate, she was determined and as a result, she won. If you think your situation is worse than Hannah’s situation, I have good news for you this morning: God is not the one who has pushed your head down. He is ready to turn things around. Take note of what Psalm 3:3 says about Him; “He is your shield, your glory and the lifter up of your head.” You need to make that your confession from today; ‘THOU O LORD, ARE A SHIELD FOR ME; MY GLORY AND THE LIFTER UP OF MY HEAD.’ You need to say that over and over again until a strong desire rises up within your heart for what God can do in your life. God is not intentionally delaying your miracle. He is waiting for you to reach out to Him in faith, just like Hannah did. She hooked up to God’s desire. She told God, ‘if You give me a male child, I will give him back to You all the days of his life…’ God was longing for someone who would be raised up as a prophet for His people. Hannah connected to that longing in God’s heart and as a result, her head was raised up, high above that of her adversaries. I declare that your heart will connect with God’s purpose for you and your head will be raised higher than that of your adversaries, in the name of Jesus. .
