D.L Moody said: “Every great movement of God can be traced to a kneeling figure.” Corrie Boom wrote: “When a Christian shuns fellowship with other Christians, the devil smiles.
When he stops studying the Bible, the devil laughs. When he stops praying, the devil shouts for joy.” In Matthew 6:16, Jesus says; “And WHENEVER you fast…” He did not say: “if you fast” but “Whenever.”
He takes it for granted that everyone who has a relationship with the Father is going to fast at times. Fasting is withholding food “on purpose” for a period of time.
It can prepare you for an upcoming event. In fact, most of God’s great moves in your life will always show up just after a fasting programme! No wonder John Wesley wrote: “God does nothing but by intense prayer, and everything with it.” This was the case with Jesus in the beginning of His ministry. He went alone out into the wilderness and fasted for 40 days. If Jesus with all His glory did fasting programmes before He could succeed in this wicked world, then you need to do just the same or more!
Fasting can help you to see the root of things and reveal your success keys to you. It can also show you the dangers (obstacles) and the traps of the enemy. Fasting humbles you and makes you hungry for God instead of gold. Fasting is painful but gainful later!
So REFUSE TO RELAX after your 21-day (JANUARY) or 14-day fast (JULY)! You are a reflection of a wonderful future; a creation designed for a special mission and an attractive paragon of excellence! Yes, you will make it on planet earth! Hold on!
