Welcome to today’s devotional hour of a new song! The Holy Ghost is sending me to remind you of vs. 23 of today’s scripture: “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray to God that your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” That means you are a spirit having a soul and you live in a body (the flesh). Truth is that in normal life, your spirit and your flesh are in opposition to each other. They are two giants living within your life that are constantly fighting to control you. Either your flesh wins or your spirit wins. If your spirit wins, then you become stronger in the spirit. Listen: Your spirit gets stronger when you feed it with what the spirit desires: the Word of God, prayer, holiness, Christian fellowship, etc. The more you give your spirit these things, the stronger your spirit will become. The same is true with your flesh. It desires constant food, water, sleep, social media, TV, etc. The flesh gains strength when it gets what it wants! We call this result “habit.” A habit is formed by repeating a behavior! And that is why you sometimes have agony while fasting! The pain you feel while fasting is your flesh crying for help! When you deny the flesh its food, it gets weakened and cries out! Fasting deprives the flesh of its desires, thereby crippling its strength. Fasting causes the flesh to lose ground. Add prayer to fasting and you can readily see the result: The flesh loses ground while at the same time your spirit gains ground. That is why you must not give in to the lies of hunger even in the upcoming 2025 July 14-day worldwide fasting programme to settle the 2nd half of the year! Your spirit man will get stronger and stay in the winning pathway of destiny!
