One of the ways you can prove your love to God is by offering Him quality worship. Mike Murdock says that “The proof of love is the investment of time.” Your love for someone is shown by your willingness to spend quality time with him/her. If you truly love God, spending time in fellowship with Him will never be boring or burdensome to you. You will enjoy it more than any other thing. The key thing about spending time with God is listening. God is interested more in a heart that listens and that is ready to obey than in a heart that is quick to speak. The Word makes it clear: “Let every man be quick to hear, slow to wrath and slow to speak” – See Vs. 19 of today’s scripture again. When you are in the presence of God, make it a priority to listen first. Don’t be too quick to open your mouth. Listen to what He has to say first. That is a mark of honour and reverence for the God who loves you. Listen to what Paul Tillich says about love: “The first duty of love is to listen.” If you had a friend that always comes to you and the only thing that friend does is talk talk and talk… what would you think about such a person? When you consider your relationship with God, are you like that kind of friend? You have to give your God quality worship/time EVERYDAY. You don’t just spend time with Him only when you feel like it or when the church declares seven days prayer. No! No! No! Determine to SPEND MORE TIME WITH GOD AND HEAR HIM MORE! Determine that DIVINE DIRECTION will be your pursuit. UNTIL He speaks, do not invest in that business, travel, marry or take any action! Hear more! Speak less! Our Daily Manna ODM 14 June 2024
