TOPIC: YOU ARE WHAT YOU ACCEPT
Basic Scripture Today 16th August 2025 and Declarations
A group of co-workers decided to play a prank on one of their colleagues. When he entered that morning, full of energy and ready for work, one co-worker came to him and said: “Your eyes look pale, did you sleep at all?” He answered with energy that he did. Another came in and told him the same thing. Then another came and said he looked tired and sick. They kept coming and telling him repeatedly many negative things. Soon he started to believe that maybe he was sick. Not long after, he began to feel unwell. His temperature had risen. His eyes had become pale. His colleague who had thought it as a joke started to get scared! That colleague who was told negative lies, actually fell sick and went home! Wow! This happens to a lot of people in many situations. No wonder Oprah Winfrey penned: “You become what you accept.” Yes! Whether positive or negative, you can never become what you do not accept! Gideon grew up being told he was the weakest and from the poorest family. He accepted it and couldn’t help his people. Hear him: “But how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family” (Judges 6:15). And he became what he accepted until God intervened to make him a man of valour! Listen: It is time to break away from any negative belief that YOU CANNOT BE MORE THAN YOU ARE! Yes! There is more to life than all you have achieved! PRESS ON! Close with this my favourite quote: “Doctors have always said that our bodies are built to adapt; if a feeling or experience goes on for long enough, the brain learns to disregard it, work around it, or just treat it as normal.” Wow! NEVER ACCEPT defeat, depression or anything NEGATIVE as normal! Learn from the man in today’s story because you are what you accept! Guard your mind/heart always! Rejoice/laugh by force because THE BEST IS YET TO COME! Pray seriously now!
