ODM TOPIC: JOHN BUNYAN: EXPECT A MIRACLE YOU CANNOT HIDE!
I love the story of John Bunyan, the poor, uneducated thinker of 17th century England. He wasn’t a trained preacher. He had no formal schooling. But when he encountered Jesus, he couldn’t keep silent. Even prison couldn’t shut him up. John was arrested for preaching without a license, but he would rather choose jail over silence. He said, “I will stay in prison till the moss grows on my eyelids rather than disobey God.” His preaching behind bars didn’t stop, but rather it intensified! And while in prison, he wrote “The Pilgrim’s Progress,” a book that would go on to win more souls than most sermons ever could. 1 Corinthians 9:16 says, “…Woe is me if I do not preach the gospel.” When a man encounters an overwhelming truth, nothing you do to him will change his mind. If you tell him to shut up about the gospel, he will declare, “woe is me if I keep quiet.” The disciples preached because they saw an empty tomb (Matthew 28:5-8). The Samaritan woman evangelized because she met a Man who knew her secrets (John 4:28-29). As 2025 ends, I declare today, that THE LORD will VISIT YOU with an encounter that you cannot keep secret! Like John Bunyan, open your mouth to declare that JESUS CHRIST is the same yesterday, today and forever! Expect a miracle you cannot hide! Amen and amen!
