Share with me this story: A little boy went to a telephone booth at a store and dialed a number. The store owner listened to the conversation. Boy: “Lady, can I cut your lawn for half the price?” Woman: “I’m happy with the person I have now.” Boy: “I’ll even sweep the floors for free.” Woman: “No, thank you.” The boy smiled and ended the call. The store owner was so impressed that she approached the young boy with a job offer. But the boy replied “No thanks, I was just checking my performance. I’m the one who already works for that lady.” Oh! I am laughing! This is what I call, “setting your own exam.” Our 1st Basic Scripture (Galatians 6:4) says, “Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else.” It says after you have tried yourself, not against anyone else, but against yourself, then you can determine your place of praise! Indeed, I think life is self-examination! There is no greater delight than to be conscious of sincerity on self-examination! If you do not test your actions regularly, life will test you! Socrates said: “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
