Remember the story of the young lady in England who told me she had a dream in which some people appeared to her and where she was told something like: “You will be very, very great, but we will come after you and strike you down at the pinnacle of your greatness.” She said they kept repeating it to her till she woke up and it seemed so real even after she woke up! That was a divine warning for her against demotion. You know the devil can allow you to rise to the zenith of your career before striking. He can allow you to marry before letting you know that you have fibroid or attack your marital destiny! The powers of darkness can allow you to become rich or comfortable before the battle to bring you down begins. That is why the Holy Ghost is saying to a user of today’s devotional: Watch and pray at every level of your success. There is no demotion- free battle zone in life! In fact, the higher, the riskier! From today’s scripture, Israel lost the glory and lost the Ark! That was after “all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again” (vs. 5 of today’s scripture)! Amazing! After a great shout, it was a great fall!!There are rich men of yesterday who are roasting in poverty today! There are great pastors of yesterday who are groaning pastors today!
