Heaven is crying for excellence and the best in someone’s entire life and ministry even as you use this devotional today. Martin Luther King Jnr, an eloquent black Baptist minister, who led the mass civil rights movement in the United States at a public rally and indeed at nearly all his rallies, seriously stressed the need for the blacks to show the world that it is not a curse to be a black man by being the best in whatever they did. The black man and the white man have the same brain. So he declared, “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.” Oh! I feel like jumping to shout halleluiah! Apostle Paul had a passion for the best! There are different kinds of life and Jesus at a stage of His ministry declared abundant life as a product for His followers. Not just life, but the best kind of life – abundant life (today’s scripture vs. 10). God has always been a Specialist at going for the best. Man was the best He created! Scientists are still battling to study 1/5 of the brain of man! You are a product of specialty! Pursue the best in preaching, praying, studying, giving, etc. NEVER BE LAZY! The question God is asking is: “Don’t you think you can BE MORE and increase from where you are?” Where you are now is not your BEST! Buy books, get CDs and develop yourself! The best is yet to come! Pursue it daily and NEVER QUIT!! Life is like a good book! The further you get into it, the more it begins to make sense. Get into life! You will be a great delight.
