GENESIS 1:1
Someone said, what you do with the whole Bible depends on what you do with the first sentence of Genesis. The Bible opens with a simple statement: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). If you believe that, then you can also believe everything else written through its 66 books. Don’t believe Genesis 1:1 and let the devil lie to you that God cannot grant you long life (Psalm 91:16), that He cannot heal you (Matthew 8:16), that God cannot prosper you (Psalm 1:3) or grant you your heart’s desires (John 14:14). No! Every word following Genesis 1:1 is as true as Genesis 1:1; no matter what is happening around your life and ministry! It is impossible for God to lie (Numbers 23:19)! His Word is His bond! Listen to Jeremiah 1:12: “. . .1 will hasten My word to perform it.” Wait for your God! Believe God concerning that challenge! Delay is not denial! Billy and Sam were arguing about Genesis 1:1. Billy said he believed it, while Sam said he believed the Darwin theory of evolution (i.e. primordial cells; reptiles, monkeys and man). Billy asked him: “Were you there?” “No of course” replied Sam. Then Billy said, “Well God was! He was the only One there and I will take the word of the eyewitness rather than guesses of those relying on their own imaginations.” Mr. Charles Darwin (the originator of the theory of evolution) was not there! So why believe him? That hour, that day, Sam gave his life to Christ. God asked Job the questions: “Where was thou when I laid the foundation of the earth?” (Job 38:4). God was there as an eyewitness and His Word can be trusted! Delay is not denial! Jonathan Swift said: “Vision is the art of seeing things invisible!” See in advance, whatever God’s Word says about you! God does not and cannot lie! Shame the devil! Believe Genesis 1:1.
