To many of us, things are more important than people. A man once said, “The world is filled with problems because instead of loving people and using things, we are loving things and using people.” As far as God is concerned, nothing on the face of this earth is more valuable or important to Him than the soul of a man. A man’s life does not consist of things (today’s scripture, Vs.15). Barbara Johnson said that we must never let a problem to be solved become more important than the people to be loved! You can get yourself so engrossed in doing something that you begin to even hurt the people that you think you want to benefit by your insensitive and indifferent attitude. Set your priorities right; people are more important. The world’s greatest treasures are not in the ground; rather they are in the hearts of the men and women that you see everyday. These treasures are buried on the inside waiting to be discovered/developed. Unfortunately, lots of people will go to the grave without ever having the opportunity to express to the fullest all that God has deposited in them; simply because someone used them but refused to love them! Note this: THINGS WILL EXPIRE! You are not important and valuable because you are rich. Your qualifications or background is not what makes you a person of value and great worth. What Makes You Important Is The Impact You Have Had, And That You Can Have In The Lives Of Men And Women Around You. If people cannot look at you and say, “Thank God for his/her life; I discovered my value through her/him,” then you need to do an inner search! Never forget: Stop using people and loving things!
