Vs. 12 of today’s 1st scripture says, “Demetrius hath a good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.” Wow! What a testimony! In Greek tradition, Demetrius, a Greek boy’s name, means “follower of Demeter” who was the Greek goddess of corn and harvest. Who does not love CORN AND A GOOD HARVEST? This man, unlike Diotrephes who was a PROUD AND LOUD MAN, had a good report of all men because HE WAS WALKING IN THE TRUTH. HE WAS NOT A HYPOCRITE! He was living for the truth and for humanity! The Holy Ghost is saying, “LET YOUR LIFE AND CHARACTER PREACH THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST EVERY DAY! Let all you do or say point men and women to Christ.” No wonder Daniel ANIKOR screamed one day: “A successful man is the one who does more of all he does in other to service humanity” He was so right! Oh! In this 2nd half of 2024, do the right thing, at the right time, and in the right way! Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing. Never forget what a great Hindu leader Mahatma Gandhi once said: “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” Oh, what a shame! BE A DEMETRIUS WHEREVER YOU GO TODAY!
