Have you ever wondered what would have happened if they came to the forest to fetch David, and he was not there? What if the person sent to call David from the bush, came back without David in sight? Opportunity lost right? In this year 2024, when opportunity comes beckoning, may you not be found wanting in Jesus name. Yes, may you be at the right place, at the right time this year! Vs. 11 and 12 of today’s Word says: “And Samuel said unto Jesse, ‘Are here all thy children?’ And he said, ‘There remaineth yet the youngest, and behold, he keepeth the sheep.’ And Samuel said unto Jesse, ‘Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.’ And he sent and brought him in…” Wow! And what the Holy Ghost is saying to a user of today’s devotional is: In this year 2024, performance will meet you at the place of your assignment. David knew how to stay in his place. He knew what his assignment was and to focus on it. He was not a busybody. God was looking for a king that would be dedicated, focused and committed to the care of His flock Israel, and David was that man. “Nothing is more expensive than a missed opportunity.”- H.
