In the 1990 World Chess Championship, Garry Kasparov faced a tough challenge from Viswanathan Anand. Garry was losing to his opponent and everyone believed that was the end. But in a crucial move, Garry shocked everyone by sacrificing his queen – a move that seemed reckless. Note that in a CHESS GAME, the queen is the most powerful piece, capable of moving any number of squares diagonally, horizontally, or vertically, combining the movement of a “rook” and a “bishop,” and is worth 9 points. Even beginner knows that you do not sacrifice the Queen. But Garry did! Knowing Garry was a master chess player, and making that, “foolish” move, shocked everyone including his opponent who was taken off guard. The opponent didn’t know what kind of move that was or how to respond. But guess what? It was a calculated move and he won! Wow! Wow! Gary won the World Chess Championship not just because of his mastery of the game, but because of his willingness to make that one crucial move, which I call, “the Foolish move.” Remember how Gideon and Joshua’s “foolish moves” of taking foolish steps against their enemies, brought them victories (see Joshua 6:2-5 and Judges 7) . The Holy Ghost is telling a user of today’s devotional: “Yes! You have tried all your expert moves and done all you know to do, but have you tried the “foolish move” of God?” Was Gideon defeated? Was Joshua disgraced? No! No! No! In life/ministry, most things God will ask you to do WILL NEVER MAKE SENSE TO YOU! It did not make sense to me then, when the LORD asked me to leave PHARMACY! I struggled and wept, but today, He has proven that He is the ALL WISE GOD! No wonder Harold Hann said: “What seems foolish in the eyes of men is often the strategy that leads to victory.” The devil is always predicting you, thinking he knows every one of your skilful moves, but had he known, he would not have crucified the LORD of glory! God will always CONFUSE the gates of hell concerning you! Always walk by faith (things that may not make physical sense) and not by SIGHT (things that make sense)! I decree: Your life will end in praise! TRUST YOUR GOD even when it does not make sense anymore!
