In today’s devotion, I want to share with you a story I was told about one of the greatest men of God on planet earth today. The story goes thus: “One fateful day, God asked this man of God to leave where he was to an open place outside. On getting outside, the Lord asked him to draw or inscribe any object of his choice on the ground, on bare sand. In obedience, this great servant of God did so. After that, God asked him to erase what he had drawn on the ground with his foot. As soon as he had done so, God said to him, “As you have wiped off this object with your foot, so will I wipe you out the day I find out that you are proud.” Wow! Wow! One of the things that God frowns at seriously, is pride! Solomon wrote, “These six things doth the Lord hate: yea seven are an abomination unto Him: A proud look…” (see Proverbs 6: 16-19 for more). The very first abomination mentioned is pride! Pride sent Herod to an early grave (Acts 12: 21-23); pride also turned Nebuchadnezzar to an animal for 7 years (Daniel 4: 30-33). In 2025, any servant/child of God who wants to go very far with God must run away from pride! Dear Pastor, Why Do You Want People To Praise You After Each Sermon? Albert Einstein, one of the greatest scientists that ever lived said, “Every true genius knows that he/she knows nothing.” Part of today’s scripture says, “…He giveth grace to the humble” (1 Peter 5:5b). This Is Your Year Of More Of Him; Less Of You! Always be the first to apologise in 2025, no matter who is wrong! This is my secret! May The LORD increase your grace this year as you walk in humility!
