Al-Qaeda Glorifies Bondi Massacre and Calls for More Terror Attacks

Al-Qaeda believes Australia contains enough sympathisers to answer its call. Our leaders insist the real problem is people who notice.

Islamic terror group Al-Qaeda has gone online and given the Bondi shooters a five-star review — as it were.

And, they’ve urged their followers in Australia to consider a sequel.

All of which raises a deeply unsettling question.

What’s more shocking?

That the Islamists in Al-Qaeda think shooting 15 Australians dead on a Sydney beach in the middle of the day is praiseworthy?

Or… that the Islamists in Al-Qaeda think there are plenty of budding Islamists in Australia willing to do the same, or worse?

Al-Qaeda Calls for Bondi Repeats

The Islamic terror group has called for people living in here — or as they call it… “behind enemy lines” — to conduct attacks like the Bondi massacre… which they describe as “the gold standard”.

The terrorist group says that Bondi-style shoot ’em ups are — and I quote — “the least” that their followers can do.

The least they can do for what? For Catholicism?

The scary part is that Al-Qaeda obviously believes there’s a market for their message in this country.

They even published a brochure online, encouraging more attacks, and featuring a photograph of the Bondi shooters whom they describe as “knights”.

Which is wonderfully ironic, considering actual knights spent several centuries trying to stop people exactly like Al-Qaeda.

History ain’t what it used to be.

Al-Qaeda tells their followers that they should give Westerners “a taste of war”. And says that…

“(Lone actor attacks) play an important role against the Zionists… we will not stop attacks until the Zionists are ousted from Palestine.”

The interesting part isn’t that Al-Qaeda believes these things. We already knew that.

What’s interesting — if “interesting” is still the right word — is the assumption baked into it: that Australia is not just a place, but a recruiting ground.

How did that happen?

Our own security agencies aren’t exactly laughing at Al-Qaeda’s confidence.

AFP Commissioner Krissy Barrett told Senate Estimates earlier this year that within our country there was…

“A growing cohort of people susceptible to hatred or attracted to violence.”

She added that the majority of the AFP’s terrorism caseload was…

“religiously motivated violent extremism”.

Those Presbyterians!

Why a Judaeo-Christian Society?

Anyway, with all of that in mind, have a listen to former ABC host Barry Cassidy, who’s telling The Guardian podcast he can’t work out why anyone — including Tony Abbott — might prefer one religion over another.

Cassidy said…

“He (Tony Abbott) went on to say that he wants the Judaeo-Christian society essentially.

“There are 1000 religions out there. That’s 1000 gods and he’s basically saying that as president of the Liberal Party let me decree that there can only be one dominant, one majority religion in this country.

“It’s kind of… why?”

Why might we prefer a predominantly Judaeo-Christian society?

Gee, I don’t know.

I mean, aside from the fact that Judaeo-Christian societies are the freest and most prosperous in human history.

Oh, and they’re also typically societies with the smallest audience for Al-Qaeda.

Unless those Anglicans are up to something we don’t know about.

It beggars belief that Cassidy can grow up with all the benefits of a Judaeo-Christian culture only to look back at it and say it’s no better or worse than anything else going around.

Minns, Hanson and Multiculturalism

All of this lands just days after Pauline Hanson argued Australia should stop celebrating multiculturalism and start expecting assimilation into a common Australian culture.

I can’t imagine why she thinks that might be important. Can you?

Cue a national game of Pretend Pauline Hanson Said Something Else.

She said no-one’s allowed to be bilingual.

She said no-one can eat Kebabs.

She said the Socceroos have to be white.

She said no such things.

NSW Premier Chris Minns yesterday joined a conga-line of pretenders, wanting to verbal Senator Hanson…

“One of my biggest gripes with what Hanson has been saying… she seems to be saying, if you support multiculturalism, then you’re also for sharia law, multiple marriages for, or multiple wives for men, and gangs with machetes.

“If you’re a supporter of multiculturalism, you must be for sharia law.

“That’s utter garbage. I wouldn’t support sharia law or any of these insane ideologies in a place like Australia.”

Except Pauline Hanson never actually said that.

As I understand it, her argument is actually far more dramatic.

A country can’t remain culturally cohesive if it doesn’t expect newcomers to assimilate into the norms, values and institutions that hold it together.

In fact, if enough people insist on importing incompatible legal, religious and social systems – instead of adopting Australia’s — you shouldn’t expect those competing systems to stay on the fringe.

Over time, little by little, they become normal.

History rarely changes with a trumpet blast. It changes one concession at a time. First gradually. Then suddenly.

The problem is not that if you support multiculturalism the way it’s being practiced in this country that you therefore support sharia law.

The problem is that if you support multiculturalism the way it’s being practiced in this country, you’ll realise too late that you’ve ended up with variants of sharia law and be unable to do anything about it.

I’d like to hear what Chris Minns thinks about that rather than what he thinks about what he pretends Pauline Hanson said.

And just while we’re on Chris Minns…

Wasn’t it Chris Minns along with his police minister who stood back on October 9, 2023 while an anti-Israel mob marched through the Sydney CBD chanting “where are the Jews”?

Wasn’t it the Chris Minns Government who advised Sydney Jews to stay in their homes rather than venture out into city because their safety couldn’t be guaranteed?

And now this same Chris Minns pretends that anyone worried about multiculturalism is some kind of idiot?

Which segways nicely…

‘We Need to Be Concerned’: Immigration and Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke says the Al-Qaeda recruitment message… and I quote …

“Is why I’ve been saying we need to be concerned not only about what’s coming over the border but also what’s coming through the browser.”

If only alliteration could keep us safe.

If only the Home Affairs Minister would talk to the Immigration Minister.

If the Immigration Minister was more concerned about who’s coming over the border, the Home Affairs Minister wouldn’t have to worry so much about what’s coming through the browser… because there wouldn’t be such an audience for it.

I do hope those two ministers meet some day.

Now admittedly, this is probably a weird place to bring in Zali Steggall.

The member for Warringah has just formed a new political party that has no leader and that permits members to promote any policy they like… so she’s probably not the person you’re going to turn to for advice on cohesion.

But I’ve introduced her now, so here’s what she said this week…

“There is a dangerous rhetoric coming out of One Nation which is blaming our diversity, blaming multicultural communities for problems that they have not created.”

Beg to disagree.

One Nation is blaming weak politicians like Zali Steggall and Labor MPs — but I repeat myself — for promoting diversity at the expense of unity and for romanticising a multiplicity of foreign cultures while sneering at Australian culture.

All the while, making us increasingly unsafe and chastising us for being concerned about it.

Let’s be honest: Al-Qaeda just gave the Bondi massacre a glowing review. They called it “the gold standard.” They published a brochure encouraging sequels. And they assume Australia is a recruiting ground full of willing Islamists.

And what is our political class doing? They are busy pretending Pauline Hanson said things she didn’t say. They are lecturing us about the virtues of multiculturalism while Jewish Australians are told to stay home for their own safety. They are playing word games while the terrorists are playing for keeps.

The article is a devastating takedown of the denial that has become the hallmark of our establishment. The author points out the obvious: Al-Qaeda’s confidence in Australia’s recruiting potential is based on reality. The AFP’s own Commissioner admits there is a “growing cohort of people susceptible to hatred or attracted to violence,” and that “religiously motivated violent extremism” is the majority of their caseload.

But the real sting is the contrast between this threat and the government’s response. The article rightly skewers the absurdity of former ABC host Barry Cassidy, who can’t understand why anyone might prefer a Judeo-Christian society. Gee, I don’t know. Maybe because Judeo-Christian societies are the freest and most prosperous in human history? Maybe because they have the smallest audience for Al-Qaeda?

The article then turns to the multiculturalism debate, exposing the straw-man arguments of NSW Premier Chris Minns, who pretended Pauline Hanson said multiculturalism equals sharia law. She didn’t. Her argument, as the article correctly states, is that a country can’t remain cohesive if it doesn’t expect assimilation. And if you import incompatible legal and social systems, they won’t stay on the fringe. They will become normal.

The article’s conclusion is a warning: “History rarely changes with a trumpet blast. It changes one concession at a time. First gradually. Then suddenly.”

The author also reminds us of Chris Minns’ failure on October 9, 2023, when he stood back while an anti-Israel mob chanted “where are the Jews?” and advised Sydney’s Jewish community to stay home. This is not leadership. This is cowardice.

And finally, the article calls out Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke for his alliterative nonsense: “We need to be concerned about what’s coming over the border and what’s coming through the browser.” The author’s response is devastatingly simple: if the Immigration Minister was more concerned about who’s coming over the border, the Home Affairs Minister wouldn’t have to worry so much about what’s coming through the browser.

The article is a cry of frustration. It is a plea for sanity. It is a demand that our leaders stop pretending that diversity is a shield against terrorism and start recognising that unity is the only defence.

Al-Qaeda loves our multiculturalism. They think it makes us weak. And they are not wrong.
