BASIC SCRIPTURES: PHILIPPIANS 4:1-4 JOHN 16:30-33
Philippians 4:1-4 (NIV): “1 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends! 2 I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. 3 Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life. 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
John 16:30-33 (NIV): “30 Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.” 31 “Do you now believe?” Jesus replied. 32 “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me. 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Encouragement and inspiration for the day: In Philippians, Paul encourages believers to stand firm in their faith, to find unity, and to rejoice always in the Lord. Despite challenges and disagreements, there is strength in coming together in the cause of the gospel.
In John, Jesus speaks to his disciples, acknowledging their belief but also preparing them for the trials ahead. He assures them of his presence and promises them peace even in the midst of trouble. This passage reminds us that while we may face difficulties, we can find courage and peace in Jesus, who has overcome the world.
So, for today, let’s hold onto the joy and unity found in our faith, rejoicing always in the Lord. And let’s take heart in knowing that no matter what challenges we may encounter, Jesus is with us, offering us peace and strength to overcome.
