TOPIC: THE AWARD-WINNING PAINTING: GUARD YOUR PEACE!

Several artistes were asked to paint a picture of peace and calmness. It was a competition that was worth a prize. Various artistes painted pictures of a clear sky with birds flying across the sky. Some painted people and animals sleeping. Some painted the Pacific Ocean, etc (The deepest ocean in the world is the Pacific; the shallowest ocean is the Arctic Ocean. The word, “PACIFIC” means PEACE. So the calmest ocean in the world is the Pacific). But the person who won the competition did not paint anything that seemed at first like peace. Instead his painting depicted a destructive tempest in a certain setting. Within the setting, violent waters surged, accompanied by frightening clouds and flashes of lightning. But in the midst of all that chaos, an inconspicuous bird found solace in the shelter of a rocky crevice. Despite the raging storm enveloping its surroundings, the bird remained unharmed, shielded and at peace. The bird found peace in the midst of the storm. Beloved, peace is not the absence of a storm, but rather the inner calm that prevails in spite of it. See today’s scripture Verses 6-7. As 2023 ends, no matter how this year has been, do not let what’s happening around you get inside you and weigh you down. YOUR BEST IS YET TO COME! STAY CALM! LOOK UP!
