Evening Devotional – September 19th
Scripture: 1 Samuel 1:27 (KJV) “For this child I prayed.”
The story of Hannah in the book of 1 Samuel is a beautiful testimony of the power of prayer and God’s faithfulness. Hannah was barren and deeply distressed because she longed for a child. She poured out her heart in prayer at the tabernacle, and God heard her cry.
When her son Samuel was born, she gave him back to the Lord, fulfilling her vow. Her prayerful dedication of Samuel’s life to God reminds us of the importance of surrendering our most precious blessings to the Lord’s care.
In this verse, Hannah’s words reflect her gratitude and joy for the child she had prayed for so earnestly. She recognized that Samuel was a gift from God, a direct answer to her prayers, and a reminder of God’s faithfulness.
As you reflect on this verse, consider the significance of the children in your life, whether they are your own biological children, adopted children, or those you have influenced through teaching or mentoring. Take a moment to thank God for the gift of children and the privilege of guiding them in their faith journey.
PRAYER AGAINST ACCUSERS OF DESTINY – odm daily 2023
Evening Thought
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for the precious gift of children. Just as Hannah prayed for Samuel and dedicated him to You, I pray for the children in my life. May they grow in Your wisdom, grace, and love. Help me to guide and nurture them according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
May this devotional remind you of the importance of prayer and the blessings of children in our lives. Just as Hannah prayed for Samuel, let us lift up the children in our care in prayer and dedicate them to the Lord’s purposes.
