BASIC SCRIPTURE: MARK 5:21 – 36
Welcome to today’s devotional encounter with He that has the STAR OF DAVID. Let the words of Jesus to Jairus be your watchword today and for the remaining days of this year: “Don’t be afraid, only believe.” This instruction tells me two things: one, it is possible for fear and faith to stay in the same “container.” Secondly, if fear and faith are in the same ‘container,’ faith will be USELESS in producing the divine assignment it has been designed to produce – Your laughter!

No wonder Plato opined: “We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.” Yes! Men fear in spite of the LIGHT of the written Word! Hear Eleanor Roosevelt: “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.”
Every time you walk by faith instead of fear, you strengthen yourself against fear! As 2019 comes to an end, RESIST DISCOURAGÉMENT and DEPRESSION! I remember Jack Lemmon: “Failure seldom stops you. What stops you is the fear of failure.”Did you get that? So I agree with Justine Musk: “Fear is a powerful beast. But we can learn to ride it.” ODM Daily 29 November 2019 – TAME THIS BEAST NOW!
RIDE ON THAT FEAR – fear of a LONG DELAY to your testimony, not getting married, fear of death, sickness, accident, shame, fear of poverty or demotion, etc. Close with Virgil Thomson “Try a thing you haven’t done three times. Once, to get over the fear of doing it. Twice, to learn how to do it. And a third time to figure out whether you like it or not.” Yes! Move on! Believe again! TAME THE TIGER – FEAR! I see celebration!
